Adults-Arsenic and Old Lace Tea Party

Adults-Arsenic and Old Lace Tea Party In-Person

Amber Jurgensen is a PhD candidate at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Her dissertation, "Agents of Change: Poison and the Social Body in Victorian Literature," considers the fears evoked by the social implications of poison's use in the nineteenth century. In her spare time, Amber is an avid reader and fiber artist, and she lives in Shreveport with her cats and fiancé, who is still thankfully willing to drink coffee with her despite her research material.

Adults are cordially invited to don their tea party best and join us for a wickedly fun discussion of the use of poison in classic, gothic, and contemporary literature.
